I purchased the Romeo8H at my local cabellas. After looking at the Vortex huey and eotech apparently it was too fuzzy for my eyes to properly focus on. After playing with this inside the store this was an easy choice for me to fit my needs for my job. I am a ranch manager of several properties and needed something clear and reliable for quick reliable performance. I like how big the lens is for me to see down range in low light conditions. I was able to pair this in with a Vortex 3x magnifier and it works perfect. Set up was really really easy. I used a bore laser to get me close with in range to properly sight in at the range I needed it for. And I was able to take off the tops of ant mounts at around 120 yards in a standing position consistently with the magnifier. Without the magnifier I was able to get groupings of around 10-15 inches in diameter at around 230 yards again in the standing position while trying to sight in. I am not the best shooter at long ranges and had a lot of caffeine that morning so please forgive my grouping on that with a new rifle build. But if you are looking for something for around the 100-300 yard range. I would definitely use this any day of the week to use. Unlike the fuzzy holographic sight this is crystal clear and again very easy to use. And I plan on getting a few more of these for other set up's. My only negative is that I wish it was a little cheaper of course.. I think this would be a solid choice for around $399.... But I have only used it for a month now of light shooting so only time will tell if this ends up being a work horse down the road.

This things is badass and expensive.

Excellent, good FOV, crisp reticle, tough as nails. Only down side is the weight maybe.

I owned a UH-1 gen2 since its release. I sold it recently because I wanted a dot sight with way more battery life. Why would I go back to holographic and its pathetic 3000 hours when the 8H gets 100,000-275,000? It’s incomparable.Pros of 8H:-huge viewing window for great FOV-Thin but very strong housing-parallax free, I tested it on items just 2-3 feet away and it’s great! If you’re at 2-3 feet from a bad guy though I doubt you’d miss.-battery life out of this world, 100k+ hours or 10 years-very CRISP and clean dot/reticles and has a choice for 65moa circle with BDC dots center-No fuzz or refresh rates on reticle compared to holographic sights-Glass is crystal clear, at first I thought the rear plane had fallen off when I got mine, but it’s just so clear it seems to not exist-Bright as heck when you need it to be-NV compatible!-completely enclosed emitter design-rear glass lowers astigmatism to a degree-shake awake very sensitive, worked 100% of the time but will observe its function down the line.-One button press to turn on in case shake awake ever fails-comes with easy mounting tools and a gorgeous package-hardcoat anodized in darker smoother type of finish. Hard to make a scratch on it, it’s superior to the huey’s coat.-Pretty much snag free design that looks futuristic and better in personCons of 8H-It’s big, a full size optic-Some may say it looks goofy and cartoonish-You CAN see the emitter if you look downwards from the front of the sight at a specific angle-heavier than your micro dots-a very slight blue tint on front multicoat lens, but it’s on par with the huey and not noticeable in use-Because it is a dot sight, a magnifier may magnify the reticle too. Must test this later.-No titanium shroud like the 8T has. 8T costs more though.I’m going to recommend this highly due to how practical and well-made it is.Get 8T instead if you want that titanium shroud.Extra note: says assembled in USA but I read on forums that parts are sourced from Japan, so they can’t put “made in USA”.

The item itself is pretty good, the optics is amazing and it's lighter and more sleek than EOTech. But the build quality is not as good as EOTech. It says Assembled in USA, but I made my peace with the fact that many parts may be Chinese sourced. I'd say a solid 4 starts (5 starts if it was $300)The problem is this listing: they tagged this item as flammable so it can't be returned. I ordered one with discoloration on the top, and when I wanted to request exchange, I had to go through Amazon Support. Seller (Swarm Outdoors) has been completely non-responsive. Still trying to resolve it but it's been 10 days.I ordered another one (this one was perfect) from a different seller, will keep it but checked the possibility of refund, it says flammable again.Hopefully it's a mistake, otherwise extremely bad practice for such an expensive item. You could just say that it's not returnable so I'd get it from OpticsPlanet for a few dollars more and peace of mind.

Alright so I’ve never been this happy with a purchase of an optic yet. The reticle is simply the crispest I’ve ever seen. The only complaint I have is I wish it automatically adjusted the brightness for this price but I don’t feel shafted at all. This optic is built different, just simply beefy beyond all words. It’s a heavy bastard but just look at it.
